1st day of school = sad mommy

This is a picture of Sydney on her first day of school. Mom had to fake a smile for she was sad to see her 18 wonderful weeks of playing with Sydney all day get interrupted by the beginning of the school year. The first day was rough for dad and especially mom, but we couldn't be happier with our choice of childcare for Sydney. Her teachers are wonderful and "love her up" as they call it. They play, sing songs and have 2 pages of things they will be teaching her in the months to come. Day 2 was easier for us because Sydney was smiling and looking at her teachers before we even left the room. She seems to be doing well and enjoying her new environment. Once school really starts up next week dad will drop her off around 8 and mom can pick her up at 3, so her days won't be that long.

Sydney also had her 4 month check-up this week. She continues to do well and surprise the doctor with her strength. The Dr. really got a kick out of all of Sydney's' new noises and couldn't help but laugh. The nurse even thought she saw some bumps that indicated teeth would be coming soon. Sydney weighed 14 lbs 4 oz (66th percentile) and was 25 3/4 inches (93rd percentile).

Hi Hil,
I had to leave Ellorie this week too. I know how you feel. Good luck with your first week next week.
Love, Janice
